  • Art of Pride is inviting artists to an Open Call for all works of art that showcases “The Moment is Now”

    Meant to inspire and recognize the hope and resilience of our wonderful community during these trying times, we are inviting artists to submit and showcase any art pieces that they believe embody this theme. All media forms are accepted and the deadline to submit is December 20th, 2025.


    ELIGIBILITY:

    18 Years+   

    Residing within San Diego County


    REQUIREMENTS:

    Artwork - Minimum: 1, Maximum: 3 ( Please do not submit more than 3 works of art) 

    Each image must have the following elements in its file name:  Artist’s name, name of work REQUIRED name for file you upload: “Artists Name_Title of Artwork” example: “Alma Thomas_The Eclipse”. Improperly labeled files may be rejected. 


    ENTRY FEE:  No Entry Fee.  

     

    CATAGORIES ACCEPTED: Painting, drawing, photography, printmaking, assemblage, collage, mixed media, digital art, fiber art, ceramic and stained glass. Works must be “hangable” and delivered with the necessary mounting and/or wiring to hang on a wall. No freestanding sculptures accepted at this time.     Works should be no larger than 36" x 36" framed. If you are submitting a multiple image piece, it may exceed the size limitation, however please share a thumbnail of how it will look displayed on a wall and its total dimensions for consideration.

    •    03/14/26        Artwork Pick Up ( Up to one week after the show closes )

     

    DELIVERY AND PICKUP OF WORK: Artwork must be delivered FRAMED and ready to hang to the San Diego Pride Office Gallery at 3620 30th Street, San Diego, CA.

    Drop off times: The week of 1/13 through 1/16, 2025 During Office Hours, 9am-5pm. Shortly after the closing of the show in March, all work must be picked up at the same location. **Mailing your work is NOT an option.**

    SALE OF WORK AND COMMISSIONS: Artists can sell their selected artwork for the exhibition. Art of Pride is not responsible for any transactions, deliveries, and payments to the artists. There is a 20% commission for all artworks sold at this exhibition payable to Art of Pride to continue its mission to support the San Diego LGBTQIA+ art community.

    EXHIBITION DATES:

    January 29 - March 13, 2026

    Artwork, including items sold, must remain on exhibit for the duration of the show.


    OPENING RECEPTION: Thursday, January 29, 2026 - 5:30pm - 8pm

    This will be a curated and jurored exhibiton by Nicole Verdés (she/they) Managing Director of Lambda Archives

    PRIZES: Cash (or Cash Equivalent) Prizes will be given to the top 3 artists based our guest jurors choice at the opening reception at 7:15pm. There will also be a "people's choice" award given at the reception. 

     
    1st Place: $125

    2nd Place: $75

    3rd Place: $50

    Peoples Choice Award ( voting at the reception ): $50

     
    USE OF IMAGERY:

    If your artwork is selected for either the exhibition, Artists grant Art of Pride permission to photograph selected artwork.  Art of Pride reserves the right to use art images for marketing and publicity without compensation.


    INSURANCE AND SAFETY OF WORK:  

    Effort will be taken to make sure the works are safe and protected.  However, artists should have their own insurance against loss or damage.  Release of liability forms must be signed at time of delivery of work.

    Art of Pride continuously is seeking community opportunities for our artists that may fall into specific groups. We use this section to inform our committee of who we serve and how we can serve better. Filing out this portion will not affect any of the selection process of submissions.
  • Every effort shall be taken by Art of Pride to secure and protect the Artwork to be displayed in the Sand Diego Pride office gallery. I shall however indemnify, defend and hold Art of Pride, San Diego Pride and its officers, volunteers or employees harmless from any losses or damages incurred which may arise from any damage or loss of said Artwork.

    *Artists are advised to seek insurance on their work if they deem it necessary.

  • By Submitting this form, I hereby grant Art of Pride permission to use the image or other content submitted in their publication, including their website & internet postings.  I verify that I have the right to publish the people in the pictures and that I own the rights to have these images (or other content) distributed, published, or otherwise promoted by Art of Pride as they see fit for their publication.  I certify that this work of art is not plagiarized from another source.

    I understand that the images(s) (or other content) I submit to Art of Pride may be used in their publication in print or digitally as well as on their website and other social media and internet postings.


    I understand that by completing this form only allows Art of Pride to use my images (or other content) in their publication, and at no time will Art of Pride assume rights to the images (or other content) themselves, other than me allowing them the right to publish the images (or other content) submitted and should they then post pages from the publication on their website or in internet postings.

     
    I understand that at no time shall I be paid, reimbursed, compensated, or given royalties, now or at any point in the future by Art of Pride unless otherwise stated in the above details.
